RECTOR

The Rector is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the Polytechnic.

Qualification
Candidate must
  • Hold a Masters or a Doctorate degree in any of the disciplines offered in the Polytechnic with a minimum of fifteen (15) years professional and administrative experience at least five of which must have been gained in an institution of comparable status.
  • Be a Chief Lecturer with not less than five years experience on that cadre.
  • Demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial attributes.
  • Provide evidence of membership of reputable professional body/bodies in Nigeria
  • Provide evidence of scholarly publications in reputable Journals as well as presentation of invited papers at educational conferences, seminars and/or workshop
  • Be able to attract research grants and development facilities to the Polytechnic.
  • Present evidence of medical fitness (from a Government Hospital).
  • Not be more than fifty-five (55) years of age at the time of assumption of duty.
  • Be proficient in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) packages and capabilities.

The appointment is for a term of four years in the first instance and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another term of four years and no more.
The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.



REGISTRAR
The Registrar shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration of the Polytechnic.
He shall be the Secretary to the Council and Academic Board and shall perform such other duties as the Rector may from time to time assign to him.

Qualification and Experience
  • Candidate for the post of Registrar must hold a good Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 17 years
  • cognate experience, or a Master's degree with 15 years cognate experience or a doctorate degree with 12 years cognate experience.

The appointment is for a term of five (5) years in the first instance and may be renewed for only a further term of five (5) years.

The Polytechnic Librarian shall be responsible to the Rector for the administration of the Library and the co-ordination of the library services in the teaching units.

  • A good honours degree with 18 years cognate experience OR
  • A Master of Library Science degree (MLS) with 15 years cognate experience OR
